Location:  The subject will be delivered  on campus of the University of Melbourne, School of Geography, Earth and  Atmospheric Sciences (McCoy Bld.)

Course Details:
This course provides an overview of the geology of major ore deposits hosting critical minerals with an emphasis on the processes controlling their genesis and how this information can be applied in exploration. There is a particular focus on critical mineral  deposits in Victoria and Australia, where most graduates from our universities end up working. The course features invited speakers from CSIRO, Geological Survey of Victoria, Geoscience Australia, and several mining companies, in addition to lecturers working in  critical minerals at the University of Melbourne. Students will have access to samples from several world class ore deposits and learn to recognise key minerals and textures.
