Unique Learning Spaces

This teaching space is a world first and is designed to enhance and accelerate your learning by providing on-site training for skills you will require in a career as a geoscientist, atmospheric scientist, environmental scientist or a geographical scientist.

The Monash Earth Sciences Garden is innovatively designed around the geology of Victoria, reflecting the Earth's activity over the last 600 million years.unique learning space

Students using this garden will have an added advantage over students who rely solely on classroom taught skills and will be able master skills and concepts early in their undergraduate experience that could otherwise take years to develop.

Our state-of the art teaching laboratories and practical classes are also complemented by innovative field experiences.  Some of the places you will can visit will be include the Western Volcanic Plains of Victoria, the You Yangs, Buchan, Cape Liptrap, Mt Anakie, Wilsons Promontory,. Lake Eildon in VIC, and Broken Hill in NSW.  We even have one field unit based in Italy in the Cinque Terre, Liguria.
