Kip Thorne's Public Lecture

Professor Kip Thorne shown with a still from the video "Trip Through the Wormhole" by Double Negative. There is a journal article about this visualisation, which describes how it was used in the movie Interstellar and how it might be used in the teaching of General Relativity.

In October 2015, we were thrilled to welcome Professor Kip Thorne to Monash. He is the Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics, Emeritus at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). Professor Thorne is one of the three founders of the LIGO project. He mentored Monash astrophysicist Yuri Levin, one of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration team members at Monash.

While at Monash, as well as meeting with our academics and students, Professor Thorne gave a public lecture titled "A Century of Relativity: From the Big Bang to Black Holes", which you can watch above.
