Honours

Honours will give you a competitive advantage in your career and is a requirement for studying at PhD level.

As an Honours student you will work one-on-one with an academic on a research project.

Honours is offered to students who have achieved good chemistry grades at level 3 and have decided on a project with an available academic.

Monash Chemistry has guidelines on allocation of Honours students and great care is taken to ensure that all students are treated fairly and that they will generally be allocated to the area and supervisor of their choice. Most students will receive either their first or second preference.

Please note that the project descriptions are very short and full details are given when speaking to supervisors.

The 2023 intake Honours applications are open now and close Friday 11th November (Late applications may be accepted in consultation with the Chemistry Honours Coordinator).

Students undertaking Honours as part of their BSc(Adv) with Honours degree will be contacted by the Science Faculty but still need to submit the Project Selection Form to  the Chemistry Honours Coordinator by the deadline.
