Chemistry Research Groups
The research ambitions of the Jones group lie with the development of new and fundamentally important areas of main group (and transition metal) chemistry which challenge previously held views on the structure, bonding and stability of hydrido, low coordination number and/or low oxidation state metal complexes.
As a general philosophy, we try not to be constrained by specific or rigid project areas. Thus anyone with a good idea who feels they can offer new capabilities to our research group, and take our research into new (but clearly related) directions, then you should talk to us.
Established in 2015 and directed by Professor Cameron Jones and A./Professor David W. Lupton MonCat is a Monash University School of Chemistry funded centre focused on fine chemical synthesis using elementally sustainable approaches to catalysis.
