Dr Daniel McInnes

Research Overview

Daniel's main interest is the application of controllable Markov chains to the optimal use of resources, especially water and energy. His current project is the optimal transfer of water to meet irrigation and environmental needs in the Goulburn-Murray river system, especially the cascade from Lake Eildon to the Goulburn Weir. More generally, he is interested in decision making to mitigate catastrophic outcomes in essential systems. He is also involved in research into the policy implications of changes in the Zenga inequality index for various greenhouse gas emissions under the current protocols.
