Who should attend
This workshop is designed to assist physiotherapists seeking professional entry-level registration in Australia.
Please be mindful of the following points before you register:
- For all Monash University physiotherapy courses, including short courses, you must meet the minimum English language requirements which is the equivalent to International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 7.0 (no band lower than 6.5) Read registration standards.
- The courses have been developed for the Australian context and may or may not be relevant to international settings.
What you will learn
At the completion of the cardiorespiratory workshop, participants should be able to:
- Discuss modes of service delivery in Australia, in the context of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy
- List key components of a cardiorespiratory interview
- Identify the elements of a cardiorespiratory physical examination
- Demonstrate modification of assessment relevant to patient pathology
- Apply clinical reasoning in identification of patient problems and treatment priorities
- Demonstrate commonly used treatment techniques and outcome measures
- Identify key issues related to goal setting and discharge planning in the acute cardiorespiratory patient.
Program structure
Participants will be provided with pre-reading to maximise discussion/practical time. Emphasis will be on clinical reasoning and practical skill development during the workshop. Course materials include post course online access to teaching videos
