Student profile

This report details the number and percentage of students who entered Monash University’s undergraduate programs, to provide you with an indication of the likely peer cohort of new students at the University. This report is based on Semester 1 2024 data but is still relevant for current admission activity.

Students enrol at Monash from various educational pathways, not just from school. This report details the most relevant study or work background of the student when entering Monash. It includes students admitted through all offer rounds, across all Australian campuses and international students studying in Australia. Students have been grouped into five main categories:

  • Higher education study
  • Vocational education training (VET) study
  • Recent secondary education
  • Work and life experience
  • International students.

Who is included in this report?

  • Students who entered a 3 or 4 year Bachelor’s degree or a Monash pathway diploma course at one of Monash University’s Australian locations
  • Data in the report is drawn from Monash University and VTAC sources.

Overall, this report is a good representation of student enrolments for the year and should be used in tandem with course entry requirements.

The tables below give an indication of the likely peer cohort for new students at Monash. They provide data on students that commenced undergraduate study and passed the census data in the most relevant, recent intake period for which data are available, including those admitted through all offer rounds and international students studying in Australia.
