Entry Requirements (Domestic students)

There are many ways to be considered for entry to a Monash University degree depending on your educational background and history. The below options reflect the academic requirements for the different applicant categories (or the highest level of education previously completed) to be considered for this Monash course. All applicants must satisfy equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites or equivalent tertiary units including the English language requirements.

VET Certificate IV and VET Diploma

All applicants must satisfy the equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites.

To be considered applicants will require a minimum of 60% average to be considered for selection. Preference will be given to applicants whose prior studies are related to the course. Programs that involve competency-based assessment without grades or marks will not meet the admission requirements.

Started or Completed a Bachelor Degree
Applicants with Higher Education Study

Applicants who have completed one year of full time study (48 credit points) of a recognised university degree will be considered on the basis of their tertiary results alone. Applicants require a minimum average mark of 60% in their studies (including failed units).

Applicants who have completed less than one year of full time study (<48 credit points) of a recognised university degree, but who have successfully completed at least 24 credit points (equivalent to one full-time semester) with a minimum average mark of 50%, will be considered on the basis of their tertiary and Year 12 results.

Admission to this course is competitive and applicants may need to meet a higher requirement to be offered a place.

Finished Year 12 More than 3 Years Ago with No Further Study
Applicants with Work and Life Experience

To be considered and to satisfy minimum entry requirements, applicants who have not completed Year 12 or above must complete at least two single units at an Australian higher education institution. Applicants require a minimum average mark of 60% in their studies (including failed units).

Multiple pathways to this course

Applicants who have successfully completed Year 12 are eligible to apply for this course.

Applicants with no formal secondary or tertiary qualifications are not eligible to apply for this course. This course uses the entire academic record as part of its selection considerations.

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.
