Professional Certificate
This course equips you with the skills to understand, analyse, and interpret language data within today’s digital landscape. You will begin by exploring the socio-cultural factors and technological structures that define how we communicate online, examining the relationship between digital users and the platforms they inhabit.
Moving from theory to practice, you will develop technical competence in handling language data. You will learn specific methods for collecting, annotating, and analysing digital text using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. This includes building data collections and using analytical tools to uncover patterns in multimedia and multilingual settings.
Beyond technical skills, you will engage with the ethical implications of data usage and artificial intelligence. You will learn to contextualise your findings, addressing local and global challenges, and communicate your insights effectively to professional and academic audiences.

Entry Requirements
You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.
An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with a minimum pass (50%) average.
or
A minimum of three years work experience or higher-education study in a relevant field*.
*Applicants are required to provide a Curriculum Vitae and a reference from their employer. Relevant fields can include (but not limited to): linguistics, applied linguistics, language study or teaching, translation and interpreting, TESOL and speech pathology.
