The Art of Mixed Methods Research: From Design to Execution - PDM1221

This two-day course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to plan and conduct research using mixed methods.

Through interactive plenary sessions, hands-on group/individual activities, and self-directed learning, participants will explore the principles and applications of mixed methods research.

Topics include:

  • The nature and foundations of mixed methods research
  • Core mixed methods designs
  • Introducing a mixed methods health education research
  • Collecting data in mixed methods research
  • Analysing and interpreting data in mixed methods research
  • Reporting and evaluating mixed methods research

Through these topics, participants will explore the connection between the language of conducting and evaluating mixed methods education research and their practice in health professions and sciences. Each topic will prompt participants to reflect on their learning, with the aim that these reflections will help them plan their own projects using mixed methods.
