This degree covers the core sequence of units that will give you a deep understanding of psychological research and practice.
Follow your passion by choosing a major stream of study such as neuroscience, or mental health and well-being.
You’ll also have the opportunity to build a strong skill set in interpersonal communication, research and writing, programming and statistics, and project management.
Over the course of this degree, you will explore the complex biopsychosocial factors that influence human behaviour, gain exposure to evidence-based and culturally informed approaches, and develop your understanding of scientific methodology and its application in psychology. Our degree covers the core sequence of units that are accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).

Our Bachelor of Psychology degree will lead you toward a professional career that helps people to lead more satisfying and meaningful lives.
Through the duration of the course, you will build a strong foundational understanding of the core areas of psychology and equip yourself with the skills that will enable you to pursue diverse pathways into research, mental health and welfare, human resources, community services, counselling, education, and health services.
You will also build the breadth of your knowledge by undertaking elective options that focus on related areas including Indigenous and cross-cultural psychology, sleep and circadian rhythms, and digital technology and innovation.

There are many ways to be considered for entry to a Monash University degree depending on your educational background and history. The below options reflect the academic requirements for the different applicant categories (or the highest level of education previously completed) to be considered for this Monash course. All applicants must satisfy equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites or equivalent tertiary units including the English language requirements.

The course is structured in three parts: A. Psychology sequence, B. Psychology in practice and society, and C. Elective study.
Partner with another course
Double degree courses allow you to study towards two different degrees at the same time, and graduate with two separate qualifications. And because a required subject in one course can count as an elective in the other, our double degrees take up to two years less than if you studied for the two degrees separately.

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.
