The course consists of four units.

The Graduate Certificate of Laws is designed to let you advance your skills and knowledge of developments in the principles, practice, and scholarship of one or more areas of law. You can focus on a specialised area or select from a broad range of electives for professional practice.

Qualifications

An Australian Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent qualification approved by the faculty.

English requirements

Applicants must also meet the English language requirements.

Current Monash students

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.

Please note that if you apply for a course transfer, you should still enrol in your current course as if you were continuing so as not to jeopardise your enrolment in the Faculty if your transfer application is unsuccessful. More about Course Transfer.

The total fees for 2026 for this 24 credit point (6 month full-time or 12 month part-time) course are:

The equivalent fee per 48 credit points representing a standard full-time course load for 2026 would be A$45,100

Fee assistance

As a full fee-paying student, you may be eligible to apply for the optional FEE-HELP to assist you to pay all or part of your tuition fees.
