Architectural Studies and Global Studies - F2024
The world is facing increasingly complex challenges, from climate change and housing affordability to migration, urban growth and social inequality. In this double degree, you'll explore how the spaces and places we design are connected to the global forces shaping communities, cultures and societies.
Why combine Architectural Studies and Global Studies?
By combining Architectural Studies and Global Studies, you'll develop the creative, analytical and intercultural skills needed to respond to some of the most pressing issues of our time. You'll learn how architecture influences the way people live, work and connect, while building a deeper understanding of the political, social, economic and environmental factors that impact communities across the world.
The Bachelor of Architectural Studies will introduce you to the design, history and practice of architecture through hands-on studio learning. You'll explore how the built environment can respond to contemporary challenges and create meaningful outcomes for individuals and communities. Through the Bachelor of Global Studies, you'll examine major global issues including climate change, inequality, migration, peace and conflict, and develop the leadership, communication and problem-solving skills needed to drive positive change.
Together, these degrees provide a unique perspective on the relationship between people, place and society. You'll learn to think across local and global contexts, balancing creative innovation with social awareness to develop inclusive, sustainable and future-focused solutions.
Graduates will be well equipped for careers across the built environment, government, policy, international development, community engagement and urban planning. Whether you aspire to shape cities, influence public policy, contribute to social and environmental initiatives, or continue your pathway towards becoming a registered architect, this double degree will prepare you to make a meaningful impact in an increasingly interconnected world.
