From day one, you’ll learn through a hands-on approach, starting with simulated client interactions and progressing to real-world placements in hospitals, schools, aged care, disability services, and private practice. This early and diverse clinical experience builds confidence and competence before graduation.

Your studies will cover motor speech disorders, swallowing and voice, augmentative and alternative communication, and cultural responsiveness – preparing you to work effectively in multicultural and multilingual communities.

Entry Requirements (Domestic students)

There are many ways to be considered for entry to a Monash University degree depending on your educational background and history. The below options reflect the academic requirements for the different applicant categories (or the highest level of education previously completed) to be considered for this Monash course. All applicants must satisfy equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites or equivalent tertiary units including the English language requirements.

Extra Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years of age by the start of the second year of the course to meet the mandatory requirements for clinical placements. Underage applicants who cannot meet this requirement are not eligible for an offer.

Police Check, Working with Children Check and Immunisation: Successful applicants will be required to hold a valid Police Check, Working with Children (WWC) Check and a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening check prior to undertaking professional placements as part of this course. Failure to hold satisfactory checks may result in students being unable /not eligible to complete the required components of this degree.
