Allied Health - M2022
Course commences in 2027
Through the Bachelor of Allied Health, you’ll specialise in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Podiatry and step into a career where your skills can transform lives in rural and regional communities.
The Bachelor of Allied Health is a three‑year degree for students who want to build a meaningful career in health and create real change in their communities. Developed to expand opportunities in high‑demand allied health professions, particularly in rural and regional areas, this undergraduate degree empowers you to improve access to essential health services and make a lasting impact where it matters most.
The Bachelor of Allied Health is designed so you learn and work with students from other health disciplines across all three years, while still building your own profession‑specific skills.
You’ll study full‑time and on campus at your chosen location: Bairnsdale, Mildura or Wonthaggi — rural sites where Monash University has a strong and established presence through Monash Rural Health. These sites support medical, nursing and allied health students with high‑quality teaching, clinical placements and experienced staff who understand the needs of rural communities.
You’ll be able to choose one of the following specialisations:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physiotherapy
- Podiatry
The course has been co‑designed with local industry partners, so your learning reflects real workforce needs and the realities of contemporary rural practice. Through placements with our industry partners, you’ll gain real‑world experience and begin forming the professional connections that will support your future career. By the time you graduate, you’ll be a confident, work-ready allied health practitioner equipped to contribute across a wide range of practice settings.
All places in the Bachelor of Allied Health are Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP). Students can also apply for the Dean’s Rural List for a special consideration pathway. Click here to check if you’re eligible.
Study Your Way and Close to Home
You’ll study across two extended semesters each year, with teaching breaks matching Victorian school holidays.
Studying at one of our rural sites lets you stay close to home while training in the communities you may one day serve.
