Diploma
On completion of the Diploma of Arts, students should be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge and their application:
- Knowledge of technical and theoretical issues in a variety of Arts theory and technical and language skills with depth in some areas.
- Identify and communicate advice in a variety of Arts disciplines to address problems in accord with management requirements.
- Utilise technical skills to demonstrate understanding and problem solving in relation to Arts issues involving diverse stakeholders.
- With depth in some areas, critically apply theoretical and technical skills to solve problems in relation to a range of Arts disciplines.
- Manage work priorities and coordinate the work of others in accord with parameters set by management.

| Arts (Sociology Education) | No subject prerequisites apply. | Mathematics Australian Year 11* (or equivalent) * If you enter into Diploma of Arts (Sociology Education) Part 2 without Australian Year 11 Mathematics, you must complete unit MCD1550 Introductory Mathematics for Business which will result in the Diploma duration being extended and additional costs. |

Apply directly to Monash using course code 2645.
Current Monash students
You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.
Please note that if you apply for a course transfer, you should still enrol in your current course as if you were continuing so as not to jeopardise your enrolment in the Faculty if your transfer application is unsuccessful. More about Course Transfer.
