Leading Complexity - PDB1133

The world’s getting smaller. And faster. Leaders are now working across countries, cultural boundaries and time zones. But at the same time, with more challenging economic and business conditions, they’re often given less power to shape what happens next. They’re held accountable for delivering results today, while adapting for tomorrow. In a landscape as complex as this, leadership insights and practices need to evolve with the times.

Underpinned by rigorous theory and driven by practical experience, this two-day short course will give you a deep understanding of how to lead in complex work environments – and a hands-on plan to work on your own leadership journey.

Who should attend

This short course is suitable for both current and aspiring leaders who want to improve their leadership skills, emotional intelligence and overall effectiveness in their professional roles.

What you will learn

Over two days, you’ll participate in a combination of structured sessions, peer coaching and learning, and your own project work. We’ll cover:

  • Looking at leadership through a new lens – assessing how you can make purposeful choices about your leadership approach that match your operating environment by leading adaptively.
  • Extending your influence – unpacking the characteristics and attributes of professional networks; being strategic as you devise a plan for curating your network, building its breadth, connectivity and dynamism.
  • Navigating complexity – exploring systems thinking and how to apply the concept, tools and frameworks to your own complex challenges.
  • Shifting the dial on culture – exploring the concept of psychological safety as a pre-requisite for teams to be able to innovate and stay relevant in a VUCA world; honing in on aspects of organisational culture that will allow you and your business to prosper.
