The world is changing and maybe you’re wondering – how has Monash Art, Design and Architecture changed?
Each week, we have a range of overview lectures and video content with artists and makers, as well as more technical instructional video content. Students can watch videos prior coming to class at their own pace, and get through the content in their own time. We are using platforms like Mural, which mimics a physical studio wall (but larger) and a range of technologies to transition to online and blended learning.
At MADA, whether online or in person, you’ll immerse yourself in a bold and creative community of artists, designers and architects. You’ll be inspired to take action, encouraged to bring your ideas to life and be challenged to respond to the environment around you.
Studying with us is easier than you think. We offer a range of easy-to-use tools and resources, and this doesn’t change if you’re studying online. No matter what Arts course you are studying, you’ll have access to everything you need.
From online classes using Zoom, to course content on Moodle, you can stay connected with your tutors, lecturers and other classmates all the time. Join online discussion boards to share your ideas or jump into thought provoking debates. Make the most of your study time with our short, succinct and engaging online lectures. You can also engage with a range of industry guest lecturers, booked in for special appearances!
Your learning outcomes will be the same as studying on campus. With our online learning models you can be confident that you’ll get the same content and outcomes you’d receive from face-to-face learning, delivered in an exciting, interactive and engaging new way.

We have tips to help keep you engaged with teachers and classmates, plus information and e-resources on how to use our tools such as Moodle.
Our academics use a range of online resources such as short weekly mini lectures, online mind mapping tools so you can visually plot theories and case studies, real-time digital examples and online discussion forums.
When you need support you can simply log onto a chat room or arrange a meeting with your teacher - this could be using Zoom or email. At times, experts from around the world also join us for interactive discussions and we have a range of exciting online student events. We will provide you with the skills employers will be looking for as the world of business continues to evolve. We want you to be confident that whether on or off campus, you can be sure you will receive the same quality education that you’d expect from Monash. With us, the opportunities are endless.
Our virtual classrooms through Adobe Connect and Zoom give you the ability to communicate with teachers and students – you can view or share presentations, interact with learning resources, work in groups, and ask questions as you usually would in person. We know that placements are the most important part of many of our courses.
Our top priority is continuing to support you in finding a placement, and your mentor teacher will guide you based on the situation with schools at the time. We’ve implemented increased flexibility about when placements need to be done, and if schools do move online again, we’ll be there to help you in participating in professional experience in an online environment.
Being a teacher is about being adaptable, and the skills you gain through these changing times will equip you with the skills you need to be future leaders in education. We understand moving to online study can be difficult, and our teachers are always there to help with any issues, big or small. We also have Education Success Advisers who can support you through your studies, whether it is enrolment or University life, so if you need to discuss something, or if you’re nervous about placement, you can book an appointment with them.
Engineers tackle many of society’s greatest challenges including health, climate, energy, transport, manufacturing and communication. They’re needed now more than ever.
We’ve adapted our teaching to ensure we can continue working to solve these challenges together. We’ve had to be innovative, we’ve had to adapt and learn how to collaborate differently so you can be confident the quality education you expect from Monash is unchanged. We have the resources, tools, and support from our world class academics to help you throughout your course, in person or online.
At the Faculty of Engineering, you’ll continue to learn through the delivery of lectures, labs and practical exercises. You will interact online with your teachers and fellow students through online forums and you can get support with one on one consultation sessions. . We run regular feedback sessions with our students to make sure we’re continuing to respond quickly to your needs. At Monash Law, our way of teaching is ideally suited to online delivery. Completing part of your studies online is nothing new for us, and we’ve designed every Law unit to make use of online learning platforms, with a broad range of resources and opportunities to ensure the same engagement as you would get through traditional teaching methods, with the added flexibility of review your weekly content at any time. You’ll still be a key part of the Monash Law community, and the online platforms encourage interactivity, both with teachers and your fellow students. Many of your classes will be delivered live and you’ll be able to participate and interact just as you would in a physical classroom. In this changing world, the soft skills you will learn during this phase of online learning will become not just important, but an advantage in your future career.
Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences have never been more important - with health professionals playing a vital role in the development and trialling of new drugs, medical treatments and the health and wellbeing of every community, the world needs you now more than ever.
The landscape of medicine and healthcare is changing, and so are we. At Monash, we are committed to making an impact in the pursuit of medical excellence and innovation, and this hasn't changed just because we’ve moved online for now. We've adapted how we deliver our course material and use a range of easy-to-use tools and resources. If your units include face-to-face or hands-on clinical learning, we'll continue to deliver as much of the learning as we can in different ways online and run on-site activities where it is essential to do so. For those of you impacted by border closures, we've also extended the teaching year so that we can hold intensive catch-ups for when you can return to campus.
You can participate in group chats to ask questions, or get support from fellow students and teachers. There are a range of demonstration videos available, and we use a learning journey platform called Pebble Pad to present portfolio work. As part of the future health workforce your skills are in high demand, and adapting to online learning makes your employability skills more valuable than ever.

At Monash, science is at the forefront of our teaching and research, and this hasn’t changed just because we’ve moved online for now. Technology is a key part of our lives and for us it plays a key role in how we teach. We use a range of user-friendly tools and resources that continue to give you a high quality education. Online lectures are easily accessible and can be watched at your own pace.
The practical lab classes involve experiments being filmed so you can watch exactly happens and then you can analyse the data - just like what you would do if you were in the lab. Our interactive tutorials are a great way to chat with teachers and your fellow students, we live stream classes and we also use an innovative platform called Physics Lightboard to present complex equations.
