Designed for graduates in mathematics, statistics, computer science and engineering, the Master of Business Analytics is the ideal next step to design an impactful career full of potential.

With focus areas including computational statistical tools and probabilistic modelling, you’ll gain the skills to bust myths and validate business decisions with evidence – and create web apps and interactive graphics to find patterns that tell stories. The Master of Business Analytics is designed for flexibility so you can choose to undertake more in-depth computational or theoretical study depending on your interests.

Entry Requirements

You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.

Minimum Entry Requirements (Domestic students)

Qualifications

Entry level 1: 
Duration: 2 years full time, 4 years part time (96 points)

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with at least a high credit (65%) average, or an equivalent GPA.

Entry level 2:
Duration: 1.5 years full time, 3 years part time (72 points)

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline with at least a high credit (65%) average, or an equivalent GPA.

Applicants must have successfully completed a first year undergraduate statistics unit, or provide evidence of qualifications/training or experience that the faculty considers to be a satisfactory substitute.

Applicants must prepare a Candidate Statement in which they are required to demonstrate that they possess the motivation and academic skills required to successfully complete the program.

English requirements

Applicants must also meet the English language requirements.

2027 intake:

The Master of Business Analytics has one intake per year. The course commences in Semester 1 each year. To ensure your experience is personalised and immersive there is a limited number of places. Offers will be sent after the application closing date. To secure your place for 2027, accept your offer as soon as you can.

  • Round 1 applications close 30 July 2026 - offer acceptance by 30 August 2026
  • Round 2 applications  close 30 September 2026 - offer acceptance by 30 October 2026

Current Monash students

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.

Full fee

Fees are per 48 credit points which represents a standard full-time course load for a year. The fees for 2026 are:
