Engineering and Engineering - E6003
The Accelerated Master’s Pathway awards you both a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Master of Engineering in just 4.5 years – equipping you with the skills, experience and time to launch your dream career.
With the perfect blend of practical and theoretical learning, you’ll explore your passions and build real-world skills through hands-on experiences, work placements and industry connections. Starting with a fully accredited Bachelor’s degree, you’ll have the flexibility to tailor your studies and drive your future career path.
The Master’s program takes your knowledge even further, developing your expertise, leadership abilities and problem-solving skills. Whether you want to deepen your Bachelor’s specialisation – or explore new areas like Renewable energy or Artificial Intelligence – you’ll be ready to create innovative, sustainable solutions that enrich your community and your career.
A weighted average mark of 60% must be attained by the end of level 2, to use four Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) electives in 3rd and 4th year to take units from your chosen master’s. You will graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) as a fully qualified engineer after 4 years, and will be able to cross credit the master’s units towards your destination master’s course.
Successful completion of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) with a minimum 65% average will enable direct entry to the Master of Engineering with only one semester (24 credit points) of study to complete.
The Accelerated Masters Pathway option is available for the following specialisations: Aerospace, Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer Systems, Environmental, Materials, Mechanical or Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering.*
Your degree will kick off with the common first year which introduces you to engineering and its disciplines, informing your choice of future studies and career.
Monash Engineering is known for its integration of practical and theoretical learning. The Career Ready Series or competitive entry programs like the Engineering Co-operative Education Program, or Monash Industry Innovation Program can give you the chance to meet engineers in industry, be job ready and start building your professional networks.
This course requires students to complete a total of 420 hours of continuous professional development, in order to graduate. This professional development may be in the form of 12 weeks of relevant vacation employment or an equivalent combination of approved professional development and/or engineering employment, taken throughout the duration of the course. Students are required to submit a series of reflections on their experience, with particular reference to development of each of the key Engineers Australia Stage 1 competencies.
*Please note the Biomedical Engineering and Software Engineering Specialisations are not available in the Masters Accelerated Pathway program.
