Actuarial Science - B2033

Behind every economic or commercial decision is a certain level of risk. How do businesses assess that risk so that they can make the best possible decisions, stay resilient and seize the right opportunities? By calling on the analytical minds of actuaries.

They’re the keen quantitative thinkers who assess risk, forecast futures and solve crucial business challenges. So it’s no surprise that this skill set is one of the most in-demand in the world of business and finance.

YOUR BUSINESS CAREER BEGINS HERE

The Bachelor of Actuarial Science helps you build your own skills in this area and get a clearer picture for your career opportunities as well. The course will show you how to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to real-world scenarios – as you learn how to evaluate risks and uncover opportunities, or positively influence economic structures to keep the pace of our rapidly-evolving world.

Financial accounting, micro and macroeconomics and economic statistics form the foundation for your study, which you can then apply to areas including corporate finance, debt market and fixed income securities. Completing this course will bring you one step closer to providing professional actuarial advice in Australia and overseas – with the degree accredited by the Actuaries Institute. It might also lead you into the Foundation Program of the Actuaries Institute professional qualification.
