In the Bachelor of Criminology and Policing, you will complete the same units as the ones offered in the Bachelor of Criminology. You will also complete a Policing unit. For a comparison, take a look at the course maps for the Bachelor of Criminology and Policing and the Bachelor of Criminology.
Successful students will complete two separate qualifications, the Monash Bachelor of Criminology and the Victoria Police Diploma of Policing. Whilst you will complete with two qualifications, this is not a traditional double degree.
Successful Victoria Police candidates will complete their Diploma during their training at the Police Academy. The Diploma will be recognised and students given credit for this Diploma to complete the Bachelor of Criminology.
The Policing component is only available in the Bachelor of Criminology & Policing degree and does not apply to the double degrees of Criminology/Information Technology, Laws/Criminology or Arts/Criminology.

Yes, in line with standard Victoria Police recruitment processes and selection criteria. Victoria Police constables are subject to a two year initial appointment probationary period pursuant to the Victoria Police Act.
Acceptance into the Bachelor of Criminology and Policing degree does not guarantee acceptance into the Victoria Police, Diploma of Policing. Students will need to apply to Victoria Police as per their recruitment process for police officers and standard selection criteria apply.
Intake to the Bachelor of Criminology and Policing is currently only available for Semester 1.
Not for the Bachelor of Criminology component, however, you will be required to complete the Victoria Police fitness test as part of the Victoria Police application process. For more information on the fitness test refer to the Recruitment process for police officers page on the Victoria Police website. The free Police Fit fitness app delivers a specific set of exercises designed to help candidates pass each individual fitness test component.
Generally, three police applications in total are accepted. Withdrawn applications are not counted in the three attempts.
