Course Handbook

The Master of Global Business and Master of Public Policy offers you a multidisciplinary perspective on global business and public policy. This double degree combines knowledge of the contemporary global environment in which business operates with the practical knowledge and skills you need in policy-making and public sector management. By pursuing this double degree, you will develop into a leader capable of inspiring and driving social and organisational change. You will be equipped with an understanding of the complexity of global issues and what they mean for public policy practitioners, engaging with governments to shape, negotiate, and implement policy agendas.

Entry Requirements

You need to satisfy the following entrance requirements to be considered for entry to this course.

Minimum Entry Requirements (International students)

Qualifications

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with a major in a cognate discipline* with at least a high credit (65%) average or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA).

or

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) and at least two years of relevant professional experience**

*Cognate disciplines include: arts, business, commerce, economics, engineering, law, management, humanities, science or social science disciplines.

** Applicants applying on the basis of work experience are required to provide a detailed curriculum vitae, outlining their employment history and professional experience.

IELTS (Academic): 6.5 Overall score, with minimum band scores: Listening 6.0, Reading 6.0, Writing 6.0 and Speaking 6.0 or Pearson Test of English (Academic): 58 Overall score, with minimum scores: Listening 50, Reading 50, Speaking 50 and Writing 50 or TOEFL iBT:

You may apply to transfer from another Monash course. Transfers are a competitive process. You may apply mid-year for available courses however consideration will be given as to whether you will be able to follow your course progression.

Enrolment Obligations

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than one third (33%) of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students must enrol in at least one unit that is not by distance and/or online in each compulsory study period unless the student is completing the last unit of their course. See standard 8.19 and 8.20 of National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.
