The Bachelor of Digital Business equips you with the digital skills needed to make an impact. This double degree in Digital Business and Information Technology gives you the opportunity to study complementary areas that provide you with a depth of study across the digital business and information technology disciplines and tailor your degree to increase your employability. This double degree gives you the skills to apply digital business principles and knowledge across the information technology sector or assist organisations to digitally transform and implement new technological advances.

The Information Technology degree focuses on the application of computer-based technologies and systems to meet individual and organisational information needs, enabling you to gain the knowledge and skills needed to use information technology effectively and to use, develop and manage information technology-based systems. The Digital Business degree will provide you with expertise in areas including business intelligence, digital disruption, strategic utilisation of artificial intelligence, and the adoption of emerging technologies, that will allow you to act as a catalyst for digital transformation within organisations, industries, and across industries.

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements (Domestic students)

There are many ways to be considered for entry to a Monash University degree depending on your educational background and history. The below options reflect the academic requirements for the different applicant categories (or the highest level of education previously completed) to be considered for this Monash course. All applicants must satisfy equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites or equivalent tertiary units including the English language requirements.

Alternative qualifications and prerequisites

You may be eligible to exit the double degree program and graduate with either a Bachelor of Digital Business (B2049) or a Bachelor of Information Technology (C2000) after three years, depending on the units studied.

If you wish to graduate with a Bachelor of Digital Business (B2049) prior to the completion of the double degree you must have completed at least 144 credit points of studies, including all of the requirements in Part A and B for the Bachelor of Digital Business degree.

If you wish to graduate with a Bachelor of Information Technology (C2000) prior to the completion of the double degree you must have completed at least 144 credit points of studies, including all of the requirements in Part A and B for the Bachelor of Information Technology degree.

English requirements

Monash Level A, that is: IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall (no band lower than 6.0); or Pearson Test of English (Academic): score of 58 overall with no band lower than 50; or TOEFL Internet-based test: score of 79 overall with minimum scores: Writing: 21, Listening: 12, Reading: 13 and Speaking: 18; or Equivalent approved English test.
