Professor Wenhui Duan Email: wenhui.duan@monash.edu Research profile: Professor Wenhui Duan |
| Prerequisites Completed at least second-year undergraduate engineering or science. Python is used across all streams; a strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, optimisation / ODEs) suits the computational streams, and an interest in laboratory experimentation suits the lab-on-a-chip stream. Prior exposure to PyTorch, OpenSeesPy or robotics tools is helpful but not required. |
|||
| Additional details Applicants may be required to attend a short interview, where the student and supervisor agree which of the four streams best fits the student’s interests and background. The successful student joins Professor Duan’s research group and is supported by current PhD researchers within the ARC NetZero Hub and Laureate Fellowship programs. |

Dr Anna Lintern Email: anna.lintern@monash.edu Research profile: Dr Anna Lintern |
| Prerequisites Students should be comfortable with coding in Python, Matlab or R – or willing to become comfortable with coding during this research placement. Whilst not necessary, it would be of great benefit if students have completed ENE1621, CIV2263, ENE2268, or CIV3285. |
|||
| Additional details It is recommended that applicants reach out to the supervisor (Dr Lintern) to discuss the project further before applying. Students will be placed in the Green Infrastructure and Water Quality group during the research placement. They will be given the opportunity (and are encouraged) to participate in group meetings and gatherings. |
