For example, applying knowledge of theory, research evidence, policies and procedures in the health care setting or performing accurate radiation therapy planning and dosimetry calculations and analysis using best practice to ensure that patients do not receive unnecessary radiation dose during radiation therapy imaging or treatment.

How are physical and observational skills important in this course?
You will be required to:
Carry out procedures, for example, having the endurance to perform physically demanding manual handling tasks associated with radiation therapy. This includes but is not limited to; patient transfers, operating heavy equipment such as patient beds and stabilisation devices and imaging/treatment equipment, fine motor skills to make small adjustments to patient positioning for treatment, operating small control buttons, hand pendants and bed controls requiring dexterity, fabrication of accessory equipment including patient immobilisation devices; and having the mental capacity to manage several patient referrals for imaging or treatment over a negotiated time frame while on clinical placement.
