Education and Music - D3004

Share your passion for music with the next generation through this double degree. You’ll graduate with the specialist expertise needed to help young people engage their musicality and find their own creative flair.

This course leads to two separate degrees. Depending on your specialisation, you’ll graduate with a Bachelor of Music and either the:

Specialise in primary education and you’ll be able to teach across the school curriculum, with particular expertise in music. Specialise in secondary education and you’ll qualify as a specialist music teacher.

What you’ll be learning

This degree will deepen your perspectives on the historical, creative, technical and cultural aspects of music.

On top of this, you’ll specialise in performance, composition, music technology or popular music. In turn, you’ll inspire the same passion in your students.

Combined with your education studies, you’ll learn how to be an innovative and effective teacher in general, with the capacity to bring out the musical creativity in young people.
