These inherent requirements apply to the Master of Pharmacy (course code P6001).

Your ability to recognise and moderate your behaviour and respond in ways that are appropriate in a diverse range of environments.
Subdomains: Self-reflection, Accountability and Adaptability.
How is behavioural insight important in this course?
You will be required to:
- Reflect on your own knowledge, skills and behaviour. For example, reflect on interactions with healthcare consumers in practice.
- Be responsible and accountable for your practice. For example, comply with laws regarding the supply of medicines.
- Adapt communication and behaviours according to the various tasks undertaken by pharmacists, including interacting with healthcare professionals and consumers. This is especially important in challenging emotional situations. For example, adapt your communication style to suit communicating with a person who is upset.
Your ability to demonstrate professional capabilities, including a commitment to treat people with dignity and respect, and awareness of the limits of your own knowledge, skills and health. You will also be required to comply with applicable law, regulations and any other university codes or policies.

How is professionalism important in this course?
You will be required to:
- Protect the privacy, dignity and autonomy of patients, and act without discrimination in terms of respecting an individuals diversity, culture and beliefs. For example, not disclosing a person's medical history to another person without their consent.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to enact ethical behaviour in practice. For example, not misleading someone when they are making a decision about their health.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements to reduce the risk of harm to self and others. For example, as a student pharmacist always dispense medicines under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Your ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a range of audiences including verbal, non-verbal, written and numerical communication.

How is communication important in this course?
You will be required to:
- Demonstrate an ability to sensitively respond to individual and cultural differences, understand and accurately and appropriately respond to verbal communication in a timely manner, and give and receive clear instructions in classroom or clinical situations. For example, communicate to a healthcare consumer in a clear, culturally safe and responsive manner.
- Demonstrate the capacity to recognise, interpret and respond appropriately to behavioural cues and produce coherent written material, including documents and records, appropriate to the circumstances. For example, adapting your non-verbal cues such as posture and facial expression as needed, or providing written instructions to healthcare professionals or consumers which are appropriate to the situation.
- Demonstrate the ability to correctly and accurately interpret and apply numerical information, whether data, measurements, or other numbers. For example, calculate the dose of a medicine based on the body weight of a person.
Your ability to work willingly and cohesively as part of a team, taking responsibility for your actions as well as recognising and respecting the skills of others.

How is teamwork important in this course?
You will be required to:
- Demonstrate all aspects of effective teamwork, including contributing to high quality outcomes by managing time, division of labour and team progress.
- Communicate effectively within a team, valuing other team members' backgrounds, and having a positive team mindset. For example, effectively working in a team with people you do not know.
Your capacity to locate appropriate and relevant information and your ability to process information relevant to practice and the ability to integrate, reflect on and implement theoretical knowledge in a range of settings.

How is cognition important in this course?
You will be required to:
- Locate appropriate process information relevant to practice, and integrate, reflect on and implement knowledge in classroom and clinical settings. For example, locate and integrate new information with what you already know.
- Acquire information and accurately convey appropriate and effective messages, understand and apply academic conventions to write coherently in a scholarly and professional manner. For example, write information that is free from spelling and grammatical errors.
Your ability to acquire information, carry out a range of tasks and procedures suitable to the required level of capability, and understand and carry out your assigned role in adverse situations.
Subdomains: Fine or gross motor skills; Strength.
How are physical and observational skills important in this course?
You will be required to:
- Possess the gross motor skills needed to perform, coordinate and prioritise care. For example, lifting, carrying, holding and manipulating various objects such as when processing medicine orders or conducting a blood pressure measurement.
- Be able to demonstrate and perform gross motor skill tasks consistently and safely to reduce the risk of harm to themselves and others.
- Possess the fine motor skills necessary to perform, coordinate and prioritise care.
- Demonstrate and perform fine motor skill tasks consistently and safely to reduce the risk of harm to themselves and others. For example, type, prepare extemporaneous products such as creams, and pack dose administration aids with medicines.
- Possess sufficient physical and mental endurance to perform multiple tasks in an assigned period and to provide safe and effective care. For example, working in a pharmacy dispensary for more than an hour without a break.
