A great start to university
Starting at university can come with lots of unexpected costs for books, equipment, transport and accommodation. This scholarship provides low income earners with additional funds to help with educational costs.

Monash Kickstart Scholarship
Moving to a new country with my family was stressful, and it was a difficult decision to make. Coming from a single-income family, most of our stress stemmed from the financial situation we were put in. I am grateful that the scholarship has given me an advantage and has helped me deal with the financial stress of my studies. This scholarship has driven me to work hard and strive for the best. It's easy to let things become stressful; however, I believe great things can be achieved with hard work and the proper support.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Have a low income
- Commencing a Monash undergraduate degree (Bachelor) at a Monash campus in Australia
- Not receiving any other scholarship or award payment (except for one-off equity grants such as Global Equity Grant or Achieving Potential Placement Grant)
- Have not undertaken any previous study at Monash
- Successful recipients can only receive this grant once.
Benefits
- $3000 one-off payment
Number offered
- All eligible students who are not receiving another scholarship will receive an offer.

- Awarded based on need.
How to apply
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) through VTAC between Monday 29 July (9am) and Friday 11 October (5pm) to be automatically considered.
- This scholarship can be deferred.
