Faculty of IT International Merit Scholarship
Sir John Monash Fee Scholarship
This scholarship is for international students committed to studying at the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash. It aims to attract and reward high achieving international students from India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to the faculty. This scholarship serves dual purposes: it recognises excellence in achievement of our international students, whilst enriching our community by fostering diversity.

Monash International Merit Scholarship
This scholarship has been a lifeline to me, lifting the financial strain and allowing me to fully immerse myself in my studies and community work. It has given me the freedom to engage in volunteering, tutoring and mentoring - experiences that have deeply enriched my life and fuelled my passion for education! With this support, I've found a better balance between my academic and personal pursuits, and I'm now more determined than ever to pursue a PhD and make a meaningful impact in my field.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An International student
You must meet the following criteria:
- Must be enrolled to commence in, or hold an offer for one of the 3 listed IT single degree courses:
- Bachelor of Information Technology (C2000)
- Bachelor of Computer Science (C2001)
- Bachelor of Computer Science Advanced (Honours) (C3001)
- You must be a citizen of and currently studying in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam or Cambodia.
- You must be completing your final year (equivalent Australian Year 12) offshore. International students currently studying Australian Year 12 onshore (in Australia) may be eligible for the Sir John Monash Scholarship for Excellence.
- ATAR score (or international equivalent) of 90+ for local A-Level / IB / CBSE awards.

Selection criteria
- Awarded based on academic achievement
To retain this scholarship:
- You must maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 each semester.
- You will be required to participate in at least one Marketing and/or Scholarship promotional activities, which include attending official scholarship functions and participating in marketing activities and networking events.
How to apply
- No application is required. All applicants are automatically assessed for the scholarship.
- Cannot be held with any other scholarship.
- Meet academic hurdles as outlined above.
- This scholarship cannot be deferred.
