The J.L William Scholarship as funded by the School of Physics and Astronomy be introduced to support students enrolling in Honours at Monash through the School.

Receiving the J.L. Williams Equity Scholarship as a female student studying physics has been a tremendous help. Thanks to this scholarship, I am able to focus on my academic pursuits without worrying about financial strain.

Being able to focus on my studies has made me more motivated to continue in physics and this has given me a sense of belonging in the field. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities this scholarship has opened for me and I am committed to making the most of it.

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing an Honours degree in the School of Physics and Astronomy offered by the Faculty of Science.
  • You must have an offer to study, or be enrolled to study in the following units: ASP42000/ASP4100   PHS4200/PHS4100 PHS4110/PHS4120.
  • Must have achieved a minimum 80 WAM

Benefits

$6000 for one year only (48 credit points of study).

Selection criteria

Awarded based on academic achievement.

To retain this scholarship:

You must maintain a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 70 each semester.

  • This scholarship cannot be deferred.
