Industry Leaders Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to Monash University medical students who have demonstrated a commitment to becoming a clinician scientist by undertaking the Monash University intercalated MD-PhD pathway. The successful recipients must have been enrolled in their PhD through one of the Schools that is supporting this Scholarship*, and must have submitted their PhD thesis and returned to complete the final year of the Monash University medical degree.

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen
  • A New Zealand citizen
  • Australian permanent resident
  • Australian humanitarian visa holder
  • An International student

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Current student enrolled in and commenced the final year (Year 5/D) of the Clayton BMedSc/MD degree (M6011 or M6018) in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences as a Monash Campus in Australia.
  • You must have completed BMedSc(Hons) M3701 and achieved an 80 WAM or above.
  • You must have undertaken the MD-PhD pathway at Monash University through one of the MNHS Schools supporting this Scholarship* AND submitted their PhD thesis for examination.

*Currently supported by the Sub-Faculty of Clinical and Molecular Medicine (Sf-CAMM) which includes the School of Clinical Sciences, Hudson Institute of Medical Research, the Victorian Heart Institute, the School of Translational Medicine and School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine

Benefits

  • $15,000 to be paid to students who submit their PhD thesis before the FY32 census date in the year that they return to their BMedSc/MD degree.
  • $7,500 to be paid to students who submit their PhD thesis between the FY32 census date and the Semester 2 census date in the year that they return to their BMedSc/MD degree.

Number offered

  • Up to five scholarships are available.

Selection criteria

  • Awarded based on academic achievement.

  • You may be asked to participate in, or be profiled in relevant Monash marketing, recruitment and promotional materials and/or events.
