Medicine and Artificial Intelligence Honours Scholarship

Sir John Monash Scholarship for Achievement

The Monash Interdisciplinary Research Academy of Medical AI (MIRAMA) is a collaborative Honours initiative that brings together expertise from the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (FMNHS), the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT), and the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FPPS). Designed for high-achieving students, MIRAMA provides a unique opportunity to undertake interdisciplinary research at the intersection of health, medicine, and artificial intelligence.

Through this initiative, Honours students will engage in innovative research projects that combine biomedical science, clinical and health research, artificial intelligence, data science, and digital technologies to address some of the most pressing challenges in healthcare. Projects may explore areas such as disease mechanisms, diagnostics, therapeutics, precision medicine, healthcare delivery, and emerging digital health solutions.

Working within multidisciplinary research teams, students will gain valuable experience applying advanced computational and analytical methods to real-world health challenges. The program is designed to foster both deep disciplinary knowledge and the cross-disciplinary skills needed to lead the next generation of AI-enabled health research and innovation.
