Monash PSA Insurance Medical Science Honours Scholarship
The Monash PSA Insurance Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) Scholarship as funded by the Victorian Medical Insurance Agency Limited is set up to support students undertaking the Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours) who may not have the financial means to pursue a career in medicine.

This scholarship has benefitted me in so many ways with taking the first steps into my career. The financial support that it provides has really given me the confidence to enjoy and immerse myself into university. I feel so supported and so grateful for the opportunity and I believe it has drastically helped me have a good balance with my studies, work and personal life. The reduced financial stress has allowed me to dedicate time, not only to my studies but also to study overseas as well as partake in Access Monash mentoring. Through mentoring, I feel I am able to give back to my community and guide students who were in similar situations to me, to be more reassured about tertiary education. I really appreciate the connections I've made through mentoring, meeting my fellow scholarship recipients and with the scholarship donors.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Commencing the Honours year of the Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at a Monash campus in Australia
- Experiencing financial hardship.
- Consideration is given if, in addition to low income, you are from one or more of the following educational disadvantage groups:
- Are a recent refugee
- From a regional or remote area
- Living with a disability or medical condition
- Have difficult family and life circumstances
- From an underrepresented school

$8,000 for one year only.

Selection criteria
- Award to the highest-achieving students, based on academic achievement and need.
To retain this scholarship:
- You must maintain full-time enrolment in the Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours)
- Recipients may not hold any other Monash equity scholarship or grant while holding the Monash PSA Insurance Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours) Scholarship.

- For current Monash students, applications close 4:30pm, Friday 5 December 2025.
- Supporting documentation must be submitted by 4:30pm, Friday 5 December 2025.
- This scholarship cannot be deferred
