The Ray Finkelstein Scholarship is generously supported by the Pratt Foundation and Solomon Lew to provide financial support and encourage Indigenous students to pursue undergraduate studies in the field of law.

Achieving Potential Indigenous Support Scholarship

The Achieving Potential Indigenous Support Scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies without worrying about taking on more work or making educational sacrifices.
This scholarship has also strengthened my connection to the William Cooper Institute, which has almost become a second home. The other students are lovely, and the staff are super supportive and helpful.

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Commencing student intending to enrol full-time in a single or double degree in the Faculty of Law at a Monash campus in Australia.
  • Are an Indigenous Australian** or from a migrant background (not Humanitarian).
  • ATAR 75+ for Indigenous Australians (Students applying through VTAC)
  • From one or more of Monash University's defined educational disadvantaged criteria.

**To be eligible you must provide a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate or a certified Statutory Declaration form to the William Cooper Institute. Benefits

  • $6,000 per annum (48 credit points of study) for the duration of your degree.

Selection criteria

  • Awarded based on need.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 each semester.
  • You must maintain full-time enrolment.

How to apply

  • VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for theVTAC equity schemes (SEAS) to be automatically considered.
  • This scholarship cannot be deferred.
