Achieving Potential Scholarship for Distinction
The V. and R.A. Massaro Family Scholarship as generously supported by the Massaro family be introduced to encourage and support low SES students from remote and rural communities, with a preference for students from the Latrobe Valley and wider Gippsland area, to access a tertiary education at Monash University.

I am so unbelievably grateful to be the recipient of this scholarship because it has allowed me to say yes to so many of these opportunities. The support has removed the need to work part-time while studying, freeing up so much time to focus on coursework, focus on myself and focus on those I care about. Without these opportunities and experiences, I can confidently say I would not be the person I am today.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Commencing student undertaking an undergraduate degree at a Monash campus in Australia
- Experiencing financial hardship and be from a regional or remote area.
Benefits
- $6,000 per annum (48 credit points of study) for the duration of your degree.
- Students who live on-campus will receive accommodation fees of up to $6000 paid directly to Monash University Accommodation for two years.

Selection criteria
- Awarded based on need.
- Preference will be given to students who attended secondary school in the Latrobe Valley and wider Gippsland region.
To retain this scholarship:
- You must maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 50 each semester.
How to apply
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the VTAC equity schemes (SEAS) to be automatically considered.
- Cannot be deferred.
