Intrigued by the potential of the metaverse as well as VR and AR technology in general? Remember Second Life when no one around you does? If you’re keen on learning how to both program and design immersive media, read on. This is one of four flagship majors for the Bachelor of Information Technology.

Games and immersive media adds a creative element to technical IT or engineering courses, and provides IT-based skills to those studying art or design

You’ll learn to:

  • execute art, animation and sound in the virtual world using technological expertise
  • design, develop and create VR environments and AR applications
  • 3D model, prototype games and understand game engines

You’ll cover every aspect of game design and development from a theoretical and practical perspective, with a study experience focused on collaborative studio environments – just like in the real world.

When you graduate, you’ll be perfectly positioned to become a game designer, game programmer, game level designer, game developer, 3D artist, character or environment concept artist, audio engineer and much more.
