Monash Leaders Scholarship
The Betty Amsden AO Leadership Scholarship is awarded to Access Monash mentors each year in recognition of their service and leadership in the community. This scholarship is aimed at recognising the mentors' efforts and supporting them in their studies.

The Betty Amsden program helped me gain clarity about my career pathway and increase my confidence. I think these were strong contributing factors to excelling in my interviews and obtaining a graduate position.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- A continuing Monash undergraduate coursework student.
- be from an under-represented community
- be in your final year in 2027 and enrolled in semesters one and two
- meet one of the following:
- Be a current or former Access Monash Mentor who has completed at least 12 months of service as an Access Monash Mentor
- Have completed the Volunteering in Practice unit.
- Induction breakfast in March/April 2027
- End-of-year celebration in October/November 2027

- $6000 paid for one year only.
Number offered
- 18 scholarships are available.
Selection criteria
Based on merit and supporting underrepresented communities.
To retain this scholarship:
- Fulfil the requirements of an Access Monash Mentor.
- Must remain in the program for the entire duration of 2026.
How to apply
- Cannot be deferred
- Access Monash Mentors in their final year in 2027 (and enrolled in Semesters 1 and 2) or expected completion by the end of Semester 1, 2027 will be invited to apply.
