Eric Dubsky Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to students who can demonstrate need – for example, you have a low income; are an Indigenous Australian; are a recent refugee; live in a low socio-economic, regional or remote area; attend an under-represented school; have a disability or long-term medical condition; or have experienced difficult personal circumstances.

Eric Dubsky was an electrical engineer who emigrated to Australia from Nazi occupied Austria shortly before the outbreak of World War II in 1939. Initially with his father and then as chairman and managing director he developed a small manufacturer Vulcan Electrics Pty Ltd into one of the top 100 companies in Australia – Vulcan Industries Australia Ltd. Eric has both a son and grandson who are Monash engineers.

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen
  • A New Zealand citizen
  • Australian permanent resident
  • Australian humanitarian visa holder

You must be studying as one of the following:

  • Current Monash student

You must meet the following criteria:

  • Intending to enrol in a full-time undergraduate degree at Monash (Honours)
  • Enrolled or intending to enrol in any undergraduate Engineering single degree or double degree program combining one of the Engineering degrees offered by the Faculty of Engineering at a Monash campus in Australia
  • Be participating in the Engineering Leadership Program
  • Able to demonstrate disadvantage

$6000 per annum (48 credit points of study) up to a maximum of five years

Based on academic achievement and need.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain full-time enrolment
  • You must continue to demonstrate need
  • You must achieve a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70%.
