Monash Graduate Research Equity Scholarship
These scholarships are offered to assist domestic graduate research students with a disability or whose academic career has been adversely affected. Applicants are assessed on equity grounds.

Up to $29,500
Up to 10 annually
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- meet Monash's competitive scholarship selection process requirements; and
- meet Monash English language proficiency requirements; and
- have a disability or have had your academic career adversely affected.
Adverse career interruptions might include:
- Child rearing
- Sustained care of a dependent family member
- Family responsibilities
Opting to travel or pursue an alternative profession or discipline before returning to study is not considered an adverse career disruption.

Monash scholarships are very competitive and are awarded based on your academic record, any research outputs and prior research experience.
If successful in receiving a MES, please note that the standard terms and conditions as outlined the RTP Scholarship Procedures apply, with the exceptions outlined in the eligibility criteria above.
How to apply
Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled. Whether you are a new or current student, the same application process is used for both admission and/or scholarship via our Applicant Portal. You will need to specify in your application that you are applying for the Monash Equity Scholarship and upload the MES form.

If you are a new applicant, you must have obtained an Expression of Interest (EOI) from the relevant faculty before starting your application.
Please ensure you indicate that you are applying for the 'Monash Equity Scholarship' in your application and upload the MES form.
