MRS Accommodation Scholarship

The Monash Residential Services Accommodation scholarship provided much needed financial relief. As a rural student and a first-in-family to attend university, there were many changes that were coming for my first year of university that were stressful, thankfully because of this scholarship, financial stress was not as high allowing me to fully dedicate my time to my studies and enjoying life as a young person in a new, big city.

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Indigenous Australian

You must meet the following criteria:

**To be eligible you must provide a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate or a certified Statutory Declaration form to the William Cooper Institute. This can be emailed to wci-study@monash.edu. If you have any queries please contact the William Cooper Institute on 9905 9034.

Benefits

  • $8,000 per annum (48 credit points of study) for the duration of your degree.
  • Students who live on-campus will receive accommodation fees to the value of a standard room in the Clayton or Peninsula Residential Village, paid directly to Monash University Accommodation for one year only.

  • One scholarship available at any one time.

Selection criteria

  • Awarded based on need.

To retain this scholarship:

  • You must maintain a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 50 each semester.
