This scholarship supports high achieving students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are intending to enrol full-time in a degree or double degree in the Faculty of Law.

Sir John Monash Scholarship for Excellence
This scholarship has motivated me in my journey as a student in working towards my career aspirations. The support Monash has given me has extended not just financially but it has also increased my own confidence to know that I have the support of others around me. Being able to study in Melbourne is an opportunity that I will never take for granted.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Intending to enrol full-time in a degree or double degree in the Faculty of Law at a Monash campus in Australia
- From one or more of Monash University’s educational disadvantage groups
Benefits
- $8000 per annum for the duration of the course.
Number offered
Only one recipient will be awarded the scholarship at any given time.
Selection criteria
Awarded based on need and academic merit.
To retain this scholarship:
- Recipients must retain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70.

- The scholarship cannot be deferred.
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the VTAC equity schemes (SEAS) to be automatically considered.
