This scholarship supports high achieving students from low disadvantaged backgrounds intending to enrol full-time in either the Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Medicine or the Bachelor of Biomedical Science.

Monash Peer Mentoring Leaders Scholarship
Having received the Achieving Potential for Distinction scholarship has reassured me and removed a lot of financial pressure for the duration of my undergraduate degree. This scholarship has motivated and empowered me to pursue excellence within the university, knowing I have the support of others. This has encouraged me to also give back to the community through volunteer work and helping empower aspiring Monash University students. This scholarship has helped make my aspirations of pursuing higher education achievable.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- A commencing or current undergraduate student
- Enrolled or Intending to enrol full-time in either the Bachelor of Medicine and Doctor of Medicine or the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (including associated double degrees) at a Monash campus in Australia.
- from one or more of Monash University’s educational disadvantage groups
Benefits
- $8000 to be paid per annum for the duration of the course.
Number offered
Only one recipient will be awarded the scholarship at any given time.
Selection criteria
Awarded based on need and academic merit.
To retain this scholarship:
Recipients must retain a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70.

- This scholarship cannot be deferred
- For current Monash students, apply directly to Monash
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the VTAC equity schemes (SEAS) to be automatically considered.
