This scholarship provides support to students who have experienced difficult circumstances, or those with a disability or long-term medical condition, that has affected their ability to engage with study.

Monash Kickstart Scholarship
Moving to a new country with my family was stressful, and it was a difficult decision to make. Coming from a single-income family, most of our stress stemmed from the financial situation we were put in. I am grateful that the scholarship has given me an advantage and has helped me deal with the financial stress of my studies. This scholarship has driven me to work hard and strive for the best. It's easy to let things become stressful; however, I believe great things can be achieved with hard work and the proper support.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
You must meet the following criteria:
- Have experienced difficult family and life circumstances OR living with a disability or medical condition that has affected your ability to engage with study.
- Commencing or current student, enrolled in or intending to enrol in an undergraduate or graduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia*.
- Successful recipients can only receive this grant once per year.
*Includes Diploma of Tertiary Studies and Diploma of Higher Education.

- $3000 one-off payment.

- 430 available, 200 reserved for current or postgraduate students.
Selection criteria
- Awarded based on need.
How to apply
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the VTAC equity schemes (SEAS) to be automatically considered.
- For current Monash students apply directly to Monash.
- This scholarship can be deferred.
