Monash Accommodation Scholarship
If you are experiencing educational disadvantage, but thought living on campus was too expensive, you may be eligible for assistance with accommodation costs. This scholarship supports students who are Indigenous Australians, experiencing low income, from a regional or remote area or seeking asylum in Australia to live at Monash University Accommodation. You can live on campus and enjoy the care, support and enrichment needed so that you can focus on your studies.

Monash Relocation Grant
Growing up in regional Queensland, my opportunities for attending university were limited due to my circumstances. The Achieving Potential Support Scholarship and Monash Relocation Grant has provided me financial assistance and support while I study at Monash. This relief for my family and I, has allowed me to focus on my studies and strive for excellence. Receiving this scholarship has been a transformative opportunity, enabling me to pursue a degree I once thought wouldn't be possible.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- A New Zealand citizen
- Australian permanent resident
- Australian humanitarian visa holder
- A person who is in Australia and currently on:
- Temporary Humanitarian Stay visa (Subclass 449)
- Temporary Protection visa (Subclass 785)
- Temporary Humanitarian Concern visa (Subclass 786)
- Safe Haven Enterprise visa (Subclass 790)
- Bridging visa A (Subclass 010) or Bridging visa E (Subclass 050 and 051) (inactive visas included) AND have applied for a Permanent Protection visa
You must meet the following criteria:
- Commencing or continuing student undertaking an undergraduate degree* at a Monash campus in Australia
- Must be experiencing financial hardship or be an Indigenous Australian, or living in a remote area, or a student seeking asylum in Australia.
- Reside at Monash University Accommodation. You must apply directly to Monash University Accommodation for on-campus accommodation.
- Students seeking asylum in Australia must be on:
- a Bridging Visa E, or
- a Bridging Visa A and has applied for a Permanent Protection visa, or
- a Temporary Protection Visa, or
- a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa.
*Includes Diploma of Tertiary Studies and Diploma of Higher Education

Accommodation fees to the value of a standard room in the Clayton or Peninsula Residential Village, for one year only.

Selection criteria
- Awarded based on need.
- Preference is given to rural or remote students who are also low income, and Year 12 school leavers.
How to apply
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the VTAC equity schemes (SEAS) to be automatically considered.
- Current Monash students apply directly to Monash.
- This scholarship cannot be deferred.
