MRS Undergraduate Equity Scholarship

The scholarship has alleviated much of this financial stress, allowing me to concentrate on my studies and career aspirations in diplomacy and international organisations. With fewer financial worries, I have been able to pursue valuable professional experiences, including an internship at a foreign ministry, which has greatly enriched my understanding of the world and international relations.

The support I’ve received has been invaluable, enabling me to fully engage with my studies and gain practical experience without the constant burden of financial strain. It has provided me with the stability to pursue my goals with greater confidence, and for that, I am deeply grateful. This scholarship has opened doors to opportunities that would have otherwise been out of reach and is helping me to work towards my aspirations of contributing to the global diplomatic landscape.

Am I eligible?

You must be one of the following:

  • An Australian citizen
  • A New Zealand citizen
  • Australian permanent resident
  • Australian humanitarian visa holder

You must meet the following criteria:

  • A commencing or current student enrolled or intending to enrol in an undergraduate degree at a Monash campus in Australia.
  • Experiencing financial hardship.
  • Intending to reside at Monash University Accommodation. You must apply directly to Monash University Accommodation for on-campus accommodation.
  • Cannot be held with any other accommodation scholarship.

Benefits

  • Accommodation at Monash University Accommodation with accommodation fees of up to $2587 paid monthly as $258.70 rental rebates over 10 months (February to November) directly to Monash University Accommodation for one year only.

  • 45 scholarships available per year.

Selection criteria

  • Awarded based on need.
  • Consideration is given if, in addition to having a low income, applicants experience other forms of disadvantage.

  • Current Monash students apply directly to Monash.
  • This scholarship cannot be deferred.
