Achieving Potential Indigenous Support Scholarship
The Achieving Potential Indigenous Support Scholarship has allowed me to focus on my studies without worrying about taking on more work or making educational sacrifices.
This scholarship has also strengthened my connection to the William Cooper Institute, which has almost become a second home. The other students are lovely, and the staff are super supportive and helpful.
Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen and;
- From an Indigenous Australian background
You must meet the following criteria:
A commencing or continuing undergraduate student enrolled or intending to enrol full-time at a Monash campus in Australia
Consideration is given if, in addition to low income, the student is from one or more of the following educational disadvantage groups:
- from regional and remote areas
- living with a disability or medical condition
- experiencing difficult family and life circumstances
- from an underrepresented school
To be eligible you must provide a Confirmation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Heritage certificate or a certified Statutory Declaration form to the William Cooper Institute. Benefits
$4,000 per 48 credit points for the duration of the degree up to four years
Number offered
- Four scholarships will be awarded as follows:
- A commencing student;
- A student who has completed 48 credit points;
- A student who has completed 96 credit points; and
- A student who has completed 144 credit points
Selection criteria
- The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of need
To retain this scholarship:
Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined in the course requirements in order to retain this scholarship. Recipients must remain full-time.
How to apply
- VTAC applicants - If you think you might be eligible for an equity scholarship, ensure that you apply for the VTAC equity schemes (SEAS) to be automatically considered.
- For current Monash students apply directly to Monash.
- This scholarship cannot be deferred.
