Zema Energy Studies Scholarship
The Zema Energy Studies Scholarship has been established to honour the memory of AEMO’s founding Chief Executive Officer, energy reform leader and Monash alumnus Matt Zema, and is designed to support the next generation of leaders to meet Australia's energy sector challenges. It was created with the support of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Energy Council and in partnership with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
This prestigious scholarship opportunity for PhD or masters by research studies at a Monash campus in Australia will empower you to build on your passion, gain exposure, and contribute to the energy community. You will work with supervisors from the engineering, information technology, and business & economics faculties to explore and solve pressing energy problems. You will work collaboratively with the energy sector, enabling you to establish an industry presence and develop leadership networks.

Am I eligible?
You must be one of the following:
- An Australian citizen
- Australian permanent resident
You must meet the following criteria:
- have submitted a scholarship application in the current year;
- meet Monash's competitive scholarship selection process requirements; and
- meet Monash English language proficiency requirements.
Benefits
The Zema Energy Studies Scholarship provides a living allowance stipend.

- Passion for solving pressing energy problems in Australia
- A vision to contribute to the energy community
- A desire and potential to collaborate across diverse disciplines for working on Australian’s energy sector challenges
