How to apply - Monash University Foundation Year students studying outside Australia
Use this page if you are:
An International student and are:
Currently completing or have completed a Monash University Foundation Year at a Monash College partner institution outside of Australia and you would like to apply to study a Bachelor degree at Monash University in Australia.
To secure a place in your chosen Monash Bachelor degree, we encourage you to submit your application via the my.application portal as soon as you have enrolled in your Foundation year and have received your Monash ID number.
If you are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or New Zealand citizen, you must apply through VTAC.
Whether you have always known what you want to study or you are still deciding, now is the time to consider your options and confirm you can satisfy the Monash University undergraduate age requirements, academic entry requirements, prerequisites and any additional requirements.

Each course has different minimum entry requirements and prerequisite subjects. Make sure you are aware of any extra requirements such as folios or interviews.
Foundation Year students are guaranteed* a place in their preferred Monash University destination course if they:
- successfully complete the Foundation Year program
- Satisfy Monash University’s set academic, subject prerequisite and any additional entry requirements.
* Some courses have limited places and fulfilling the minimum Foundation Year does not guarantee a place in these courses.

Some Monash University Degrees have a limited number of places available. You should submit your application as soon as you have commenced your Foundation Year and have a Monash ID number (8 digits) to receive a conditional offer for your chosen destination degree.

If you are a Monash Registered agent applying on behalf of a student studying a Monash Foundation Year outside Australia please submit the application via the Monash Agent online portal.
Soon after your application has been submitted, Monash will issue you with a conditional offer for your preferred destination degree.
If you change your mind and want to change your preferred destination degree simply email email@example.com with your new preference and Monash will issue a new offer letter to you provided you satisfy the requirements.
Apply for a Conditional Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
As you are studying the Foundation Year outside Australia you may need to apply for a Conditional Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) so you can arrive in time for the start of your degree.
A Conditional CoE will hold a place in your chosen degree and allow you to apply for a student visa.
To apply for a Conditional CoE please ask your Monash College Partner institution where you are studying the Foundation Year or submit your request here.
Are you under 18 years of age?
You must be 17 years of age before or on the day you commence. If you are currently under the age of 18, you will need to ensure that appropriate accommodation and welfare arrangements are in place for the time that you remain under 18 whilst undertaking your bachelor course.
